The accreditation has been developed by skin cancer and melanoma UK charity, Skcin and is dedicated to embedding the prevention and early detection of skin cancer through educational intervention, in the heart of communities nationwide.

We are passionate about working in partnership with our teams and with parents in helping to prevent skin cancer for future generations.

Our children have been learning about the importance of recognising UV levels and How to keep themselves safe while enjoying singing our new sun safe ‘Slip, Slop, Slap’ song!

George, the Sun Safe Superstar has been introduced through our story times and his superhero powers have been recreated through the children’s very own drawings.

Our team work in line with our Sun Safe Policy, placing a special emphasis on suitable protective clothing, hydration and sunscreen.

We have also highlighted to parents the importance of working together so that our families can continue the key messages at home with their children. Increasing knowledge and influencing behaviours are crucial to ensure that children are protected against UV rays and we all learn how to enjoy the sun safely.

A variety of activity sheets and information links have been used alongside the important protective messages to help children to understand.

Together we can make a difference and save lives!
