Within our Preschool room, there are a range of mini play ‘stations’ for the children to explore whilst being supported and guided by our supportive and encouraging team. These include a construction area, home corner, book area, and creative spaces for music and art. To complement these, we provide a range of areas and activities which serve different purposes to inspire your child’s imagination and role play, with children being able to safely explore feelings and friendships, develop problem-solving, and have space available where they can have quiet time and reflection.

Towards the Summer months our Preschool teams create their very own School Readiness programme with an increased focus on supporting the children’s transition to their Primary schools where the team will talk with the children about how they feel about going to school, what the school will have to further support the children’s learning and development as well as some activities they will be able to enjoy. We don’t just stop there either, we appreciate that the mealtimes will be very different so we discuss what these will be like for the children as well as arrange some outings for the children to visit their schools before and will arrange some visits for the children’s new teachers to come and spend some time with us too.

Their time in the preschool environment leads them towards starting their school journey, where their first year at school sees them complete their Early Years Foundation Stage journey that began at our nursery.

However, before the children venture onto big school we ensure that the children and their achievements are celebrated within our fantastic Preschool graduation ceremony. Hats, gowns, red carpet, the works, the children’s time with us is truly celebrated and they are provided with the grandest of send offs!
