Each year our garden allotment goes from strength to strength, with new and wonderful ideas led by our fantastic chefs Niki and Sue.

Never ones to stand still, and with a combined drive to provide even more special experiences for the children they entered our Mud club garden into the Ruxley Manor best school allotment and won ⭐GOLD ⭐. Not only that, a local, renowned garden centre hold their Coolings in Bloom competition annually and yet another prize was snatched up as they held an extremely well deserved second place trophy!!

Niki and Sue have developed a lovely space for the children to experience their green fingers and be able to learn about life cycles, grow their own plants, herbs, fruits, vegetables and of course some beautiful flowers.

The children have been introduced to hydroponics, the science of growing plants without using soil, by feeding them with mineral nutrient salts dissolved in water. This was such a wonderful experience for the children as they developed their curiosity and exploration, developing their understanding of the wider world and sustainability.

We are so proud of everything that Niki and Sue do in their mud club garden with the children.
